Professor Tony Collins

Professor Tony Collins is Senior Research Fellow and Module Leader at ISH.

Tony will be teaching the following modules:

- The Sports Industry & Entrepreneurship

- Sports Governance, Law, Ethics & Research Methods (shared with Dr J Simon Rofe)

- Sport & Globalisation

Tony is also emeritus professor of history at De Montfort University. He is the author of a number of books and articles on the history of sport, including 'How Football Began' (2018), ’The Oval World: A Global History of Rugby’ (2015) and ’Sport in Capitalist Society’ (2013). He has won the Lord Aberdare Prize for Sports History Book of the Year four times, and has worked as a historical consultant on numerous TV and radio shows, including BBC Radio 4’s thirty-part ’Sport and the British’ in 2012.
