Institute of Sports Humanities and Melbourne Business School to launch new Leadership in Sport short course

The Institute of Sports Humanities (ISH) and Melbourne Business School (MBS) are delighted to announce the launch of a new Leadership in Sport short course to run in Melbourne from Spring 2023.

ISH’s mission is to nurture and inspire sport’s current and future leaders around the world – smart thinking leading to better decisions and braver leadership.

MBS is home to Australia’s leading MBA and business analytics degrees, as well as short courses for professionals and custom solutions for organisations.

The new short course marks the expansion of ISH’s operations into the APAC region, and the partnership expands MBS’s formidable leadership expertise into the sports industry.

Attendees on the Leadership in Sport course will join a powerful international network of sports experts and benefit from relationships across sports and sectors of the industry.

ISH has educated leaders from elite sporting organisations including: the Football Association, England Cricket, London Marathon Events, IMG, Rugby Football League, England Squash, Rugby Players Association, Professionals Cricketers Association, Premier League Productions, Manchester City Football Club and several sports marketing agencies.

Ed Smith, ISH Director and Co-Founder, says: “This partnership represents an innovative and exciting step for ISH and I’m delighted to see the new short course with MBS come to fruition. As well as admiring the world-class reputation of MBS, we at ISH were struck by the shared values and approaches. MBS teach CEOs, directors, managers, military leaders and data analysts how to succeed. In combining and expanding our expertise, ISH and MBS have partnered in a unique way to develop and support the current and future leaders of Australian sport.”

Prof. Ian Harper, Dean at Melbourne Business School, says “As leaders in leadership in Australia, we are proud to partner with a globally focused institute to help people at all levels of sport improve their game.

By combining the best principles of success in business and sport, this exciting program will develop agile and dynamic leaders who can help people perform at their best on and off the field.”
